New HUDSON Sign Coming to Veterans Way Park —
Community Invited to Leave a Lasting Mark
Hudson, Ohio — A new, community-centered landmark is coming to Veterans Way
Park, and residents, families, businesses, and supporters are invited to be part of it.
The HUDSON Sign Project, spearheaded by the Leadership Hudson Class of 2024,
will bring a prominent and meaningful addition to the park—one that celebrates
community pride while creating a gathering place for memories and milestones.
Designed, engineered, and built with the involvement of 6-District Compact high school
students, the sign represents a collaborative effort that highlights both local talent and
civic engagement. Once completed, the installation will serve as more than a visual
landmark—it will be a destination.
The site is envisioned as a place where residents and visitors can gather for senior
portraits, holiday photos, family pictures, school dance snapshots, and shared moments
with friends and loved ones.
“This project is about more than building a sign—it’s about creating a lasting symbol of
Hudson’s identity and community spirit,” said Don Barker, Leadership Hudson Class of
2024. “We’re proud to invite the community to help make it truly their own.”
As part of the project, individuals and organizations can reserve engraved bricks and
pavers that will become a permanent part of the installation:
4x8 Engraved Brick — $250 (3 lines maximum)
8x8 Engraved Paver — $500 (4 lines maximum)
16x16 Engraved Paver — $2,500 (8 lines maximum)
For more information or to reserve a brick or paver, please contact Marietta Marquart at
(610) 745-2607 or visit www.hereinhudson.org.
These personalized engravings offer a unique opportunity for contributors to leave a
lasting legacy and become part of Hudson’s story. The project welcomes participation
from lifelong residents, families, alumni, local businesses, and community supporters
alike. Proceeds from the initiative will support the design, construction, and installation
of the sign.
The Hudson Community Foundation kicked off the fundraising drive with a generous
donation. Other early contributions have been made by Peg’s Foundation and The
Burton D. Morgan Foundation.
“The Hudson Sign Project will be a lasting symbol of community pride and a place
where memories are made for generations to come,” said Amy Jordan, President,
Hudson Community Foundation. “Supporting projects like this reflects our foundation’s
mission to enhance the quality of life in Hudson. We are also pleased to hold and
administer the project fund, providing a way for community members to make tax-
deductible donations in support of this meaningful effort and proud to help launch the
fundraising effort alongside our community partners. We applaud the Hudson
Leadership Hudson Class of 2024 for bringing their vision to our community.”
Leadership Hudson is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and contributions
may be tax-deductible as allowed by law.
